Q Why would I need to whiten my teeth?

  • To improve your smile and appearance
  • To give you more confidence
  • To make you look younger
  • To remove stubborn stains that cannot be removed through cleaning techniques

Q How white will my teeth get?

  • Pola night will whiten teeth in a dramatic yet natural way - follow our instructions to get the best results
  • There is no guarantee that your teeth will whiten, please note that about 3% of the population do not achieve a change.

 Q What is the process?

  • Firstly you will be required to have a hygiene appointment to ensure that your teeth are free from tartar and food debris
  • We then take upper and lower impression of your teeth
  • These are taken to a dental laboratory where clear plastic trays are made to fit your teeth; these are slim and comfortable
  • 10 days later we give you the trays, whitening gel, instructions and information
  • You will be required to wear the trays and whitening gel overnight for the first 10 nights then 1 hour a day for the last 5 days.
  • 7-10 days after treatment has commenced you return to your dentist for a review
  • Before and after photos will be taken
  • You can whiten your teeth as much or as little as you like

Q What is different about Pola night whitening?

Pola night starts of with a gentle low concentration gel to condition your teeth to the whitening process, this minimises tooth sensitivity.  As the treatment goes on the concentration gradually ramps up to really whiten your smile.

Q How does whitening work, will it damage my teeth?
The whitening gel, once in contact with your teeth releases oxygen which forces through the enamel to the dentine, the teeth whiten from the inside out, without causing any damage.

Q Are there any side effects?
Some people's teeth do become sensitive to cold during or after the treatment but this is usually slight and temporary. We also provide you with sensitive toothpaste to use during your treatment to prevent sensitivity.

Q How long does the result last?
Results are very stable, the effect is dependent on what has caused the teeth to discolour in the first place. If you drink lots of coffee, red wine or cola drinks the effect may darken slightly. In these cases the result can be permanently maintained with periodic tray wear for 6 nights per year - we can provide a Pola night mini top ups.

Q Can a single tooth be whitened which has been root filled?
It is very common for dead or root filled teeth to discolour. Part of the root filling can be removed and the bleach is placed inside the tooth for 1-2 weeks. Once the desired shade is achieved, the gel is washed out and the space is filled with tooth coloured filling material.
